Jude Law for Vogue Eyewear for Men

Jude Law is the face of the first collection of Vogue Eyewear for Men. The campaign has been shot by Peter Lindbergh in January at the Master Shipwright's House in Watergate Street, London.

I love this collection and I think they chose the right man for the campaign because he is so confident and fascinating he would fit anywhere.

Adoro questa collezione e credo che abbiano scelto l'uomo giusto per la campagna perché è così sicuro di sé e affascinante che starebbe bene dappertutto.

Yves Saint Laurent Changes Its Name

... to "Saint Laurent Paris". Hedi Slimane, the creative director of the Maison Yves Saint Laurent, wants to remove the founder's first name from the name of the brand. Initially I thought "What will happen to the YSL Cassandre logo?". It's such a beautiful, minimal and elegant logo, why should Slimane change it? Well, I still haven't found an answer, but the YSL's name change will only affect the label's ready-to-wear line. I'm confused.
It sounds blasphemous to me. Yves wrote an important chapter in fashion history and I can't understand why a maison like his should be renewed. High fashion is almost dead, why should creative directors change (such as Hedi Slimane, Raf Simons, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli) the essence of great fashion houses? If you want to do whatever you want, launch your own brand.

Inizialmente ho pensato "Cosa succederà al logo YSL Cassandre?". E' un logo bellissimo, minimale ed elegante, perché Slimane dovrebbe cambiarlo? Beh, non ho ancora trovato la risposta, ma il cambiamento del nome YSL interesserà solo la linea di prêt-à-porter del marchio. Sono confusa.
Mi sembra blasfemo. Yves ha scritto un capitolo importante nella storia della moda e non riesco a capire perché una maison come la sua dovrebbe essere rinnovata. L'alta moda è quasi morta, perché i direttori creativi dovrebbero cambiare (come Hedi Slimane, Raf Simons, Maria Grazia Chiuri e Pier Paolo Piccioli) l'essenza di grandiose case di moda? Se vuoi fare come ti pare, lancia un tuo marchio.

Lana Del Rey for H&M

“We are excited to have Lana Del Rey, the new star and style icon, as the face of our fall campaign. Lana is totally unique, and we wanted to create a print and film campaign that’s just as special. The mood is very L.A. noir and is inspired by our Fall collection, which also fits with Lana’s own personal style. The commercial that accompanies the campaign is like a mini-film, with a fantastic plot and Lana performing a cover of “Blue Velvet”. There’s never been a TV commercial that’s looked anything like this.” Donald Schneider, Creative Director, H&M


Lana Del Rey is the new face of H&M Fall 2012. The collection will be launched in September and it will be feminine and 60's inspired. It will feauture cold colours such as pale pink, dust and red wine colours. As you can see from the pictures, we will see angora sweaters, tight trousers, but also miniskirts, minidresses and printed leggings. The main accessories will be decorated clutches and high heel pumps.
I'm really curious to see the accessories and I love these earrings, but the idea of seeing Lana's plumpy fans wearing  heavy makeup, super teased hairstyles and extravagant leggings doesn't excite me at all. They will look like Snooki's fans, I feel it in my bones. Generally Sixities-inspired garments suits androgynous body shapes beautifully and make chubbier people look unwieldy, but this collection should enhance both waist and curves. We'll see.

Lana Del Rey è la nuova testimonial di H&M per l'autunno 2012. La collezione uscirà a settembre e sarà femminile e ispirata agli anni Sessanta. Presenterà colori freddi come il rosa pallido, il color polvere e vino rosso. Come potete vedere dalle foto, vedremo maglioni d'angora, pantaloni aderenti, ma anche minigonne, miniabiti e leggings stampati. Gli accessori principali saranno pochette decorate e décolleté con tacchi alti. Sono molto curiosa di vedere gli accessori e adoro questi orecchini, ma l'idea di vedere le fan cicciottelle di Lana che indossano trucco pesante, acconciature super cotonate e leggings stravaganti non mi entusiasma affatto. Sembreranno fan di Snooki, me lo sento. Generalmente i capi ispirati agli anni Sessanta stanno benissimo ai fisici androgini e fanno sembrare le persone più cicciottelle goffe, ma questa collezione dovrebbe valorizzare sia la vita che le curve. Vedremo.

The Sales Series - Nail Polishes

This is the second post of The Sales Series and this time I will talk about nail polishes, currently one of my favourite accessories. I did some researches to suggest either high end items and drugstore ones again, but I will post the images as soon as possible.


Red nail polish

Jason Wu S/S 2012

Wearing matching nail polish and lipstick is classy to me. This is the best red for summer because it's slightly orangy and really bright. It's a must-have.

Questo è il secondo post della Serie dei Saldi e questa volta parlerò di smalti, attualmente uno dei miei accessori preferiti. Ho fatto alcune ricerche per consigliare sia articoli di alto livello che quelli low cost di nuovo, ma pubblicherò le immagini il prima possibile.

Smalto rosso

Indossare smalto e rossetto abbinati è di classe secondo me. Questo è il rosso migliore per l'estate perché è leggermente aranciato e molto accesso. E' un must.

Orange nail polish

Orange is one of my favourite (two) colours for summer clothing and at the beginning I was skeptical about wearing this colour on nails, but now I like it. I love the contrast between pink lipstick and orange nail polish.

Smalto arancione
L'arancione è uno dei miei (due) colori preferiti per l'abbigliamento estivo e all'inizio ero scettica sull'indossare questo colore sulle unghie, ma adesso mi piace. Adoro il contrasto tra rossetto rosa e smalto arancione. 

Fuschia nail polish

Fuschia is my favourite colour for summer and I also like wearing it on my nails. This is an evergreen colour. It also look lovely in winter.

Il fucsia è il mio colore preferito per l'estate e mi piace anche indossarlo sulle unghie. E' un colore intramontabile. E' carino anche d'inverno.
Coral nail polish

This summer we haven't been the real coral colour as much as this one. It's not really coral, it's a mix between warm pink and pale red. Anyway, don't miss it if you love having colourful nails.

Gold nail polish

I don't like pearly nail polishes on young girls, they look better on mature ladies, but if you like metallic shades choose a shimmery gold colour. It looks amazing on tan skin.

Pastel nail polish

Yeah, pastel nail polishes in general. You can find any colour you want, from mint green to pastel orange, from lilac to light blue. I like wearing them in spring, but I've seen many girls wearing them now and I like them the same.

Sì, smalti pastello in generale. Potete trovare qualsiasi colore che volete, dal vere menta all'arancione pastello, dal lilla al celeste. Mi piace indossarli in primavera, ma ho visto diverse ragazze indossarli adesso e mi piacciono lo stesso.


Nude nail polish

Some people don't like nude colours, but I think sometimes our eyes deserve a break. When I wear bold colours on my nails, I get bored with them easily and then I paint my nails nude. There is a wide range of nude colours, some of them are taupy, some are pinkish, some are beigy... I think everyone should find the right one and buy it.

Smalto nude
Ad alcune persone non piacciono gli smalti nude, ma credo che a volte i nostri occhi si meritino una pausa. Quando indosso colori audaci sulle unghie, mi stancano facilmente e poi dipingo le unghie di nude. Esiste una vasta gamma di colori, alcuni sono più taupe, altri rosati, altri su beige... Credo che ognuno dovrebbe trovare quello giusto e comprarlo.

The Sales Series - Make Up Items

This is the first post of The Sales Series and it is about make up items you should buy on sale this summer. None of them are new on the market, but in my opinion everyone should have some of them in their makeup bag. I also did some researches to suggest either high end items and drugstore ones. Highlighters

Everyone should have one whether it is a cream highlighter, a liquid one, a powder one or a stick one. If you don't intend to buy one, use a light-coloured satin-finished eyeshadow that looks good on your complexion. It enhances your tan and gives you a healthy-looking skin. I prefer powder highlighters and you?

Illuminanti
Tutti dovrebbero averne uno che sia un illuminante in crema, uno liquido, uno in polvere o in stick. Se non avete intenzione di comprarne uno, usate un ombretto satinato chiaro che stia bene sulla vostra carnagione. Esalta la vostra abbronzatura e vi dona una pelle dall'aspetto sano. Preferisco gli illuminanti in polvere e voi?

Cream eyeshadows

If when it's hot you don't feel like putting your make up on but you would like to look decent, this is the product you should use. You can apply cream eyeshadow with your fingers, put some mascara on and you are ready.

Se quando è caldo non vi va di truccarvi ma vorreste sembrare decenti, questo è il prodotto che dovreste usare. Potete applicare l'ombretto in crema con le dita, mettere un po' di mascara e siete pronte.

Cream blushes

Bright lipsticks/lip glosses

Bright lipsticks are beautiful in any season, but they are even better for summer. From coral to fuschia, from red to orange, we have plenty of options to choose from. If you dont' want to wear a full face of make up, go for a simple eye makeup and a bright lip colour.

Rossetti vivaci
I rossetti vivaci sono belli in tutte le stagioni, ma sono ancora meglio per l'estate. Dal corallo al fucsia, dal rosso all'arancione, abbiamo tantissime opzioni tra cui scegliere. Se non volete avere il viso completamente truccato, scegliete un trucco semplice per gli occhi e un rossetto acceso.

Blue eyepencils

I'm a big fan of blue eyepencils because black one can bore and because it matches every eye colour, especially brown eyes. It can be used as an eyeliner or as an eyeshadow base. Metallic ones are the best to me.

Matite per occhi blu

Sono una grande fan delle matite per occhi blu perché quella nera può annoiare e perché si abbina a qualsiasi  colore degli occhi, soprattutto agli occhi marroni. Può essere usata come eyeliner o come base per ombretto.  Secondo me quelle metallizzate sono le migliori.

Cream/gel eyeliners
I've used liquid eyeliners for years then when I decided to try the Maybelline gel one I was amazed. It's cheap although the quality is very high. It doesn't smudge at all even when I wear it in summer. Gel/cream liners are the best if you don't want your eyeliner to smudge and if you are quite able to apply it (it dries faster then the liquid one so mistakes are more difficult to correct).

Eyeliner in crema/gel
Ho usato eyeliner liquidi per anni poi, quando ho deciso di provare quello in gel di Maybelline, sono rimasta stupita. E' economico nonostante la qualità sia ottima. Non sbava per niente anche quando lo metto d'estate. Gli eyeliner in gel/crema sono i migliori se non volete che il vostro eyeliner sbavi e se siete abbastanza brave ad applicarlo (si asciuga più velocemente di quello liquido quindi è più difficile correggere gli errori).

Colourful eyeshadows

If you don't want to spend much time putting on your eye make up in summer, apply a colourful eyeshadow all over the lid and blend the edges in your crease, add a couple layers of black mascara and it will look lovely. You can also mix more colours but make sure you don't look like a clown.

Ombretto colorato

Se non volete passare troppo tempo a truccarvi 

Se non volete passare troppo tempo a truccarvi gli occhi d'estate, applicate un ombretto colorato su tutta la palpebra e sfumate i bordi nella piega, aggiungete un paio di passate di mascara e sarà carinissimo. Potete anche combinare più colori ma accertatevi di non sembrare un clown.

Colourful mascaras

It's not a must, but it is a very versatile product. You can use the same mascara both on top and bottom lashes, you can apply a black one and use the colourful one on the tips only, you can use different colours, you can wear a black smoky eye with colourful mascara, you can use it alone... basically you can do whatever you want with it!

Mascara colorati
Non è un must, ma è un prodotto molto versatile. Potete usare lo stesso mascara sia sulle ciglia superiori che su quelle inferiori, potete applicare quello nero e usare quello colorato solo sulle punte delle ciglia, potete usare colori diversi, potete indossare uno smoky eye nero con il mascara colorato, potete usarlo da solo... fondamentalmente potete farci quello che volete!

Hurricane Del Rey

Lana is like a breath of fresh air both in music and fashion world. The first time I watched "Video Games" video I didn't like her voice at all but I thought she was fascinating. Then I started discovering "Born To Die" and it captured me. I also watch some interviews of Lana and I think she must be a really lovely person. She seems so humble although she acts like a femme fatale in her videos and although she is really talented (in my opinion she needs to work on her live performances, but I'm sure she will grow up as an artist). She deserves success and apparently I'm not the only one to claim this. Mulberry, Jimmy Choo and Silver Factory paid omage to her with three special dedications.
Mulberry has dedicated to Lana an it bag named "Del Rey". The bag debuted on Mulberry’s runway for their fall collection and on the arm of Lana Del Rey herself, who sat front row. Del Rey’s white ostrich version of the bag was made especially for her. Emma Hill, Mulberry's creative director, met Lana in December (oh baby :D) and was “captivated by her soulful, melancholy voice and the nostalgic beauty of her Video Games single and video.” Lana said "the bag is the perfect mix between Old Hollywood and contemporary look". Lana è come una boccata d'aria fresca sia per il mondo della musica che per quello della moda. La prima volta che ho guardato il video di "Video Games" la sua voce non mi è piaciuta assolutamente ma ho pensato che lei fosse affascinante. Poi ho iniziato a scoprire "Born To Die" e mi ha conquistato. Guardo anche alcune interviste di Lana e penso che debba essere una persona davvero adorabile. Sembra così modesta benché si atteggi come una femme fatale nei suoi video e benché abbia molto talento (secondo me ha bisogno di continuare a lavorare sulle sue performance live secondo me, ma sono sicura che crescerà come artista). Merita il successo e a quanto pare non sono l'unica ad affermarlo. Mulberry, Jimmy Choo e Silver Factory le hanno reso omaggio con tre dediche speciali.
Mulberry ha dedicato a Lana una it bag chiamata "Del Rey". La borsa ha debuttato sulla passerella di Mulberry per la loro collezione invernale e sul braccio di Lana del Rey stessa, che sedeva in prima fila. La versione Del Rey white ostrich della borsa è stata creata appositamente per lei. Emma Hill, direttrice creativa di Mulberry, ha incontrato Lana a dicembre (oh baby :D) ed è stata "conquistata dalla sua voce profonda e malinconica  e dalla bellezza nostalgica del video e della canzone Video Games". Lana ha detto "La borsa è il connubio perfetto tra il look Vecchia Hollywood e quello contemporaneo". Ecco la borsa.

Jimmy Choo has dedicated to her the LANA folding butterfly-shaped sunglasses. They seem so glamorous and functonal. Once folded, they may be placed in the elegant clutch, featuring a refined python texture. They remind me of Persol sunglasses, they are not so special, but they are beautiful anyway, right? They are available in Black and Gold and Dark Havana versions. Here they are.

La Deer Brown è la più popolare finora ed è anche la mia preferita. Quale vi piace di più?

Ma non basta.
Jimmy Choo le ha dedicato gli occhiali da sole pieghevoli a farfalla LANA. Sembrano così seducenti e funzionali. Una volta piegati, possono essere riposti in un'elegante clutch, caratterizzata da una raffinata texture pitonata. Mi ricordano gli occhiali da sole Persol, non sono poi così speciali, ma sono belli comunque, vero? Sono disponibili nelle versioni Black and Gold e Dark Havana. Eccoli.

Silver Factory, an Irish denim and T-shirt brand, just released a pair of denim cut-offs with faded ends named "Lana". Some says they have got a retro feeling, but I don't agree. They cost $ 40 and they are sold out!

I'm happy for her, she deserves to be an icon. Have you ever listened to her songs? Do you like her?

Silver Factory, un marchio irlandese di jeans e T-shirt, ha appena lanciato un paio di pantaloncini di jeans tagliati sbiaditi sul fondo chiamati "Lana". Alcuni dicono che abbiano un tocco retrò, ma non sono d'accordo. Costano $ 40 e sono esauriti!
