Men don't care as much as we do

When I was 12-13, I wanted to be accepted by people, especially by boys.
I started to doll myself up manically. I was really insecure, so I put tons of makeup on, I wore clothes just to catch attention, and lost too many pounds to feel better.
I wanted to appear more confident about myself, but actually I felt horrible. I felt even worse when I realize boys were only interested in my appearance. They said I was really pretty, but probably my bombshell look didn't allow them to see anything else in me, although most of them didn't want to see it.
Time passed, my style changed and fortunately I quit attracting superficial boys.
Through these last years I've been really lucky to meet the right boys to learn and understand many things.
I learnt guys* like when women throw on a nice dress, but it's not the only thing they look at.
They may have had the wrong impression about you according to the way you look, but, if it's worth it, they will be willing to know you.
They like when a girl wears heels, but only if she is able to walk in them.
They don't think tight, see-through, short and eye-catching clothes in general look good on everyone.
They like make up, the right makeup on the right face.
They prefer imaging a body underneath the dress a woman wears instead of seeing too much and too early.
They appreciate when a girl stands out from the crowd.
They don't think a bony woman is sexy.
I learnt to wear whatever makes me feel comfortable, because the way I feel is way more important then how people see me.
I learnt I don't need a special occasion to dress myself up and to prove people I can be elegant, because I like dressing nice everyday.
I learnt I don't necessarily need sexy clothes to attract boys because I have more to offer than my body.
I learnt to buy the right makeup to enhance my features.
I learnt a beautiful body is as important as a beautiful brain and soul.
Do you think men are interested in how you dress? Do they like your style? Are your style and body changed to get men to like you?

* I refer to the boys I met, of course.

    Bel post!Buona giornata!
